Franz Joseph Seiter, Sr.,
geboren am 8. September 1839 zu Philippsburg, Baden, besuchte die Volks- und höhere Bürgerschule und wurde dann Sattler und Tapezier. Er wanderte ’68 nach Amerika aus, landete am 12. Mai ’68 in New York und wurde in Syracuse ansässig. Hier betreibt er eine Wirthschaft besseren Styles und ist geschäftlich und gesellschaftlich wohlbekannt und geachtet. Herr Seiter war 6 Termine Präsident des Liederkranz und gehört zum Turn-Verein, Lincoln-Loge der Odd-Fellows und Salt City Loge A. O. U. W. Er verheirathete sich mit Fräulein Babette Gieser and [sic] hatte 4 Kinder, wovon noch 3 am Leben sind, nämlich Karl F., Maria Elisabetha O’Donnel und Franz J.
